Introduction
As many of you know, I have been a part of the Write2Ignite team for many years. Last year I was “promoted” to the co-director of our biannual Master Class and as we gear up for our next class, I’m eager to share this great opportunity with those of you who want to write for Christian children.
First, Some History
Led by the vision of Jean Hall, Write2Ignite’s first conference was in 2008. The organization, which is dedicated to inform and encourage Christian writers writing for children, switched to virtual classes during COVID.
I started my writing career 30 years ago when an author encouraged me to submit to magazines before I tried to publish a book. I had an idea for a picture book but had never considered writing for magazines.
“Build up your credits,” she suggested.
I took my idea for a picture book and found a home for it and a companion story in TURTLE magazine. I published in several more magazines for children and adults and gained experience, credibility, and confidence. It was a huge step in the right direction that took time and perseverance. I never regretted it. Several years later, after publishing two articles in HIGHLIGHTS, I decided I was ready to work on a book.
What this Means to You
Maybe you are at the beginning of your publishing journey. Or, maybe you’ve tried submitting book-length manuscripts but have received repeated rejections. Write2Ignite’s virtual Master Class on September 12, led by Jesse Florea, author and editor of Clubhouse and Clubhouse Junior, might open the door to your first publishing credit.

Our day will be filled with the do’s and don‘ts of submitting to magazines and writing dynamic fiction and creative nonfiction. Three breakout sessions will help you apply Jesse’s advice to your writing and publishing journey. There will be plenty of time for Q&A, a panel discussion, and door prizes. (Hint: We’re giving away several critiques!)
PLUS– after the class is over, you will have access to the recording for 3 months and Jesse will give priority to all attendees’ submissions.

Cupcakes are sweet… but investing in your writing? Even sweeter.

Send this registration link to the person(s) in your life who never knows what to get you, and the Write2Ignite registration team will take care of the rest!
I hope to see you there!
I’m looking forward to another great Master Class!
Thanks for sharing this post, Pam!
